Steel imports rise 25 percent in 9 months

Vietnam spent 5.84 billion USD importing 13.92 million tonnes of steel and iron products in the first nine months of the year, the General Department of Customs’ statistics revealed. The numbers were up 24.7 percent and 2.3 percent in volume and value, respectively, against the same period last year.

A report shows that the domestic livestock industry has average annual growth rate of 4-5 percent per annum, while there are 10 million farming households. The current consumption is 33.5 kilos per head per annum, while the figure would be 39 kilos by 2020. This means that the potential of the market is great for investors.

Vietnam to introduce e-visas next year

Vietnam plans to introduce e-visa next year as part of the government's effort to attract more tourists and boost the tourism industry. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said Tuesday that the government will allocate up to VND200 billion (US$9 million) for developing the e-visa system.

Last month has been really busy, so we thought this would be the right time for a short update. We started this month with an IBR record. The Board of Vietnam acquired their first contract over the summer, making it the earliest contract ever.
